Life Cycle Management Strategy

In pharmaceutical development, maximizing business value requires a phased life cycle management strategy—beginning with a single successful milestone, such as Proof of Concept (POC*), and progressively expanding into additional therapeutic areas, extending patent life, and advancing next-generation, best-in-class products.

As a pioneer in LAT1 inhibitor development, we have achieved POC in biliary tract cancer and have already initiated the next stage of our life cycle strategy. By advancing these initiatives through collaboration both internally and with our R&D and business partners, we aim to create sustainable and significant long-term value.

*POC: Proof of Concept (POC) refers to a concept or validation process in research and development that demonstrates, at an early stage, the feasibility of a hypothesis or a new therapeutic approach, including its efficacy and safety. In the field of drug discovery, POC is a critical milestone, typically assessed in the early stages of clinical development—primarily in Phase II clinical trials—where it is evaluated whether a drug candidate demonstrates therapeutic efficacy in patients and whether development should be continued.
